Air Liquide Japan Ltd, Japan Air Gases Co, has replaced the existing Air Separation Unit with a new Air Separation Unit (ASU) at Kitakyushu Oxyton to reinforce its manufacturing capacity and improve the energy efficiency at the production site.
The new ASU manufactured by Air Liquide Engineering Japan (in Kako County, Hyogo Prefecture) is an environment-conscious model designed with the latest Air Liquide patented technologies to improve energy saving. For example, electric energy use per produced gas unit has been reduced by 27% compared to older technologies. This new unit has passed successfully NEDO certification as the “energy use rationalization enterprise support operation.” on March 24.
Following the construction and detailed test run of the new equipment, we now began our enhanced operation with the new ASU in supplying oxygen through piping to Kitakyushu Plant of Tokyo Steel, which has been supplied by the original plant since 1970, as well as distributing our products throughout Kitakyushu area, even more reliably and efficiently.
